Good Hair Premier in New York City

Big Shout Out to Nia Long for sporting a beautiful 'do to the Cinema Society premiere in NYC Monday night. Was there anyone else there rocking their natural hair? Oh I forgot about Amber Rose. I love her hair cut! Did I forget anyone else? Let me know.

Good Hair Premiered Last Night in LA

So one of my favorite sites, mediatakeout, had photos from the movie and of course all of the women that walked the red carpet had wigs or weaves. BTW all of the ladies looked nice but was there noone there who rocked their natural hair??? Did the invite say weave wearers only?

Don't know if they had the usual dress code bit on the invite but instead of how you should dress..it should have said how you should wear your natural hair...no extensions, weaves, or wigs allowed. How fly would that have been. Think about it.

October issue of Marie Claire

So they an article "Getting Back To My Roots." Ya'll should check it out. The author is half black/white and details her hair experiences from being a little girl to adulthood. But if you don't have time to read the article...in a nutshell ..if you need hair control over tight curls then S-Curl spray does the trick. Who knew?

My old friend Thea asked me if I had tracks :(!

Gee whiz! Today a good friend of mine who I have known for over 13 years asked me if I had put tracks in my hair. She said "Ane your hair looks great..did you put some tracks in it." I was shocked and proceeded to tell her about my new blogspot. BTW, I have been alternating between Therasmooth and Kerastase products in addition to taking a New Chapter Organics women's daily vitamin. Maybe that combination provides the extra lustre and sheen that Thea was noticed?

Oh, on another note I went to the She by Sherree presentation today. I was pleasantly surprised because I just didn't know what to expect based on her first showing. Very cute clothes and well presented.

Okay. So I want to have all women without weaves or wigs to post your pictures. If you are tired of telling folks that "yes, its my real hair" post your photo. Ladies lets get this started! Remember your hair can be long, medium length, dreads, a natural, relaxed, bald or even a jheri curl! If you didn't buy it from a store then its all good. Who is going to have the honor of posting first?

Just saw the preview for the Chris Rock Movie...

So my husband and I just went to see September Issue. During the previews they showed the trailer for the Chris Rock movie, Good Hair. At first I thought it was funny but then I became just a tad bit pissed. Not all black women have weaves and wear wigs. Some of us have naturally long hair and some of us have naturally short hair and choose not to lenghten it with artificial enhancements. This blog has been created for these women.
